Babies in Boxes

Updated: Apr 1, 2025

"My grandmother bought this picture from Bill Kurtis. It hung in her house as long as I can remember. She knew I liked it and she left it to me when she passed....It's too bad that the print is so faded. They weren’t thinking archival back in the 70’s I guess.I would love to know if Bill gets back to you. I hope he does. He lived a few doors down from us when I was in grade school....Gramma was Mildred Pierson, but they didn’t know each other. She bought it from him at a gallery event. My dad was a doctor and we lived on Euclid Avenue in Oak Park, Illinois. He lived on Greenfield at the end of our block. Bill Kurtis was a local anchorman in Chicago who cut his teeth reporting from Vietnam under Cronkite, I believe."

Ace noticed this print on Axels wall in Telluride. These connections through time and space bind us all.

Moments like these are priceless. The serendipitous moments that just blow your mind.
